Fort Gratiot Lighthouse Field Trip

Exploring, Creating, and Learning at Fort Gratiot Lighthouse!

Our latest Friday field trip took us to the beautiful Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, and what an incredible day it was!

The students of The Warda Foundation Academy had an unforgettable experience—making wax candles, sculpting with clay, walking on stilts, and enjoying a classic outdoor cookout.

Warda Foundation Academy – Impression 5 Field Trip

Our students had an amazing time creating their own plant ecosystems and exploring the world of electrical circuits! Plus, they got to dive into all the hands-on exhibits and experiments Impression 5 has to offer. Science has never been this exciting!

Warda Foundation Academy – Self-defense class

For one of our Friday field trips, our students visited Great Lakes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for an empowering self-defense class. The kids learned practical techniques to build confidence, stay safe, and handle challenging situations with composure. The class not only taught valuable physical skills but also emphasized the importance of discipline, respect, and self-control. It was an engaging and fun experience that left our students feeling stronger and more confident in their abilities!

Warda Foundation Academy – Ice Skating Field Trip

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Barn restaurant for generously donating ice time for one of our recent field trips! Our students had an incredible time ice skating, with many experiencing it for the very first time. It was amazing to watch their confidence grow and their skating abilities improve in just a coulple hours on the ice. This memorable experience brought so much joy to our kids and created moments they’ll cherish for years to come. Thank you, The Barn, for making it all possible!

Warda Foundation Academy – Toured ABC 12 News

For a recent Friday field trip, our students had the incredible opportunity to visit ABC 12 News! During the visit, they got a behind-the-scenes look at how news is made, including watching a live broadcast in action. The kids explored the Control Room, learning about the technology and teamwork required to produce a news segment. They also toured one of the station’s cutting-edge news vans, gaining insight into how stories are captured and shared with the community. This hands-on experience sparked curiosity about media and communication, showing our students the importance of storytelling and the many roles that contribute to keeping the public informed.

Warda Foundation Academy – hosts Kid Chemist

For one of our exciting Friday field trips, we brought the adventure to campus by hosting Kid Chemist! This interactive program captivated our students with hands-on science experiments, sparking curiosity and a love for learning. The kids explored the fascinating world of chemistry through engaging activities designed to make complex concepts accessible and fun. From bubbling reactions to colorful transformations, the experience encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. By bringing science to life in such an interactive way, Kid Chemist helped our students see how exciting and accessible STEM can be!

Warda Foundation Academy – Visits Regency at Grand Blanc

Recently, our WFA students enjoyed a heartwarming field trip to Regency at Grand Blanc, a senior living home, where they spent time playing games and coloring with the residents. This experience was more than just a fun outing—it was an opportunity for our children to learn the importance of kindness, empathy, and building connections across generations. Interacting with the residents taught our students how small gestures of joy and companionship can make a big difference in someone’s day, fostering a sense of community and compassion that will stay with them for years to come.

Warda Foundation Academy – Uncivialized Vitality

Another exciting field trip took our students to an unforgettable experience hosted by Uncivilized Vitality, where they learned essential survival skills. The kids were taught how to start a fire using a ferro rod and build shelters to protect against the elements. This hands-on adventure not only sparked their curiosity but also built confidence, resilience, and teamwork. By engaging with these foundational skills, our students at WFA gained a deeper appreciation for self-reliance and problem-solving—lessons that extend far beyond the outdoors and into their everyday lives.
